Ranskill Parish Council has formed a steering group working with the sole purpose of consulting with residents, businesses, developers and consultants and translating those findings into a plan which will provide a foundation for future development in the village. It is intended that the final Neighbourhood Plan will control speculative and unwarranted development. The plan will ensure that any future development is in line with local needs and wishes, is in keeping with the existing village and is supported with additional and essential infrastructure.

Please note that the main aim of the Neighbourhood Plan is to limit and shape future development. At the same time we are seeking to increase the assets of the village, such as a community hub to include a village hall and a GP surgery.

About Us


The Steering Group comprises 5 volunteers working towards publishing the Neighbourhood Plan and reporting to the Ranskill Parish Council. All volunteers live in the village and normally meet every few weeks.

The group works in cooperation with Bassetlaw District Council.
We have obtained grant funding from Locality who are a nationwide network supporting community organisations.

Locality is committed to empowering people to shape their local area and neighbourhood planning brings statutory power to communities to influence future development.
AECOM are the appointed sub-contractor working for Locality, delivering site assessments and design coding reports.

We have also engaged a specialist consultant Planning With People to write the plan on our behalf.
